This includes supporting images and whatnot related to this recent Substack about how my dad famously straightened his hair for his wedding and now I have questions I wish I could ask him.
Ok breaking news: my mom says my dad merely was in the habit of blow drying his hair straight and we’re wondering if that’s what he did for the wedding. Except I am so sure he talked about getting his hair chemically straightened. And if he were to have regularly straightened his hair via blow dryer would it have been novel enough to tell me he straightened his hair for the wedding. I feel like if that were the case he would just say he dried his hair for the wedding. As per usual.
In fact I’m pretty sure he said he got it conked.
I feel like I’m performing hair forensics except not surrepticiously swiping a hair and then slipping it, with gloves and tweezers, into a ziplock in my purse to later check the DNA, which is also hair forensics.
Should I bring my aunt, my dad’s sister, into this? She might know.
Anyway, here is a picture of my dad’s said relaxed—chemically or otherwise—hair. I will follow it with a number of photos of my own hair in its naturally curly state!
