I worked for and alongside Adam Carolla as his newsgirl and sidekick on The Adam Carolla Show (at that time the number one podcast) for four years. It was a heady time and periodically it was a frustrating time and then it was over when I got an email while I was in NYC letting me know I was not coming back to the show. I was blindsided by this. Truly didn’t see it coming.
For the four years I was there I thought Adam and I had great chemistry. I thought I added a lot to the show. I was broken in, I knew the rhythms, I was liked by the audience and I was doing my own show on the network that was bringing in more and more money for them. I just could not envision being let go. And then it happened.
The way it ended colored the whole experience for a long time. There was a lot of fall out with the fans. Many rallied around me and many were awful to me. It was complicated and drawn out.
In recent years though I’ve started to think with fondness about much of my time on the show. Funny things that were said will pop into my head. I have dreams where something happens and I need to appear on the show again as newsgirl last minute and they are not bad dreams.
